Most people don’t know that much about Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation (SPF), only from what they see on the popular TV series Holmes on Homes and other home renovation shows. On this site we have tried to compile as much info from studies, other manufacturers of insulation products and include the most frequently asked questions to help you. Also posted are some links from outside agencies to visit.

Findlay Ridge Company uses 3 different types of SPF for homes, etc.

The most common is EFFICIENCY PLUS: It is used mostly to fill large cavities between 2’’x6’’ and greater wall studs, attics, etc. It is an open cell ½ pound SPF.

Second used is EFFICIENCY MAX: It is used in 2’’x4’’ wall construction, installed around areas of possible moisture problems, completely air and moisture proof.

Third is GENERAL PURPOSE FOAM: It is used where no electrical will be installed, non-living areas and were permits are not required.

Both EFFICIENCY PLUS and EFFICIENCY MAX provide environmental responsibility, have no effects on the ozone and do not emit any VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) off-gasses. R-value is only the beginning when it comes to energy efficiency. It’s the air permeability capabilities that are the true differentiator.
